The aftermath of the carnage at Mao town on 6th May, 2010 is a nightmare for thousands of Nagas in and around Mao Naga inhabited areas when hundreds of displace persons are camping at Khuzama and Kisama till-date as they are scared to go back home because of all forms of mayhem that have been committed by the Manipur commandos and IRB. It was indeed a gross violation of human rights inflicted by the Manipur state security forces upon the innocent people under the pretext of law and order.

Nevertheless, the recent visit of Mr. G.K Pillai and R.S Pandey to Manipur and Nagaland with a view to create conducive atmosphere was very much welcoming as they have sincerely committed on behalf of the Government of India that Manipur Commandos and IRB’s would be replaced by Central Para Military Force in Manipur which was revealed during different meetings in Kohima and Viswema village.

In this regard, the Naga Hoho question the sincerity of GOI as to why they should not implement the assurance given to the Naga people in letter and spirit basing on the fact that the Manipur commandos are still in operation particularly in Mao and Tadubi areas. We strongly believe that the displaced persons will not hesitate to go back home as and when the GOI fully implement their commitment in the interest of both the neighboring states and the curfew too which has been partially lifted in Manipur Naga areas should be totally removed for free and easy passage of the displaced people.
