Rejoinder to Dr.Khomdon Singh Lisam

The writing Dr.Khomdon Singh Lisam against NSCN titled “Weakness of NSCN’s demand for Nagalim is a reflection of the Meitei’s intellectuals going offensive against the Nagas. It is also a panic reaction of the Meiteis when the Nagas stood their ground in the face of their rights coming under severe attack by the Manipur state government using all state machinery forces at its disposal. But the underlining motive of the so-called historical facts and general views pointed out by Dr.Khomdon only exposed the mindset of the chauvinist Meiteis underdermining the historical and political rights of the Nagas This further gives the indication that the Meiteis have pressed the panic button against the Naga, choosing to go for confrontationist approach, both through the media and other means. There is, therefore, no doubt that the battle line has been drawn and there is no retreat for the Nagas. The message is also to be made very clear that when the attack against the Naga’s political sentiment went extreme the best answer lies with the Nagas.

Unfortunately, every single word used by Dr.Khomdon Singh reveals that he is at his best again in plagiarizing but without knowing how to link up with the ground reality to justify himself.
In the first place he talked about the Naga tribes, Nagalim for Christ and Naga dialects quoting from the books written by others but failing miserably as he is far from outlining the factual scenario of the Nagas as found today.
During the past 13 years of Indo-Naga political talks the ‘unique history of the Nagas’ came under scrutiny by the government of India, and ultimately it was fully acknowledged and given recognition by government of India which in turn help to stabilized the position of NSCN. This further led India to give assurance to NSCN that it is committed to finding a negotiated settlement of Indo-Naga political problem that is honorable and acceptable to both side.
The Nagas are by nature peace loving people with strong emotional attachment to the lands that belongs to them. Naturally, this must be the same case of the indigenous peoples across the world God in deed love the Naga people and had blessed them abundantly. He help mould the Nagas as a nation. The National Anthem of the Nagas is living testimony of how much the Nagas feel secured in the hands of God.
The pamphlet ‘Bedrock of Naga Society’ published by former Nagaland Chief Minister Dr.SC.Jamir in 2000 was condemned and rejected by the Naga people. Even his own Congress members disowned it. There is no gain giving life to such dead issue. It is obvious that no amount of pretension will be able to undo the historical reality of the Nagas, the people who love and cherished Nagalim.
It is not bad for Dr.Khomdon Singh to point out some of the historical facts of the Naga political movement. But it become another side of his inherent weakness in plagiarising without knowing where he is heading for.
The truth of the demographic realities is well defined by the Indo-Naga Ceasefire. It is however to be noted that NSCN believe in peaceful co-existence of all people. We are no enmity to our neighbors irrespective of communities. There should be no cause for alarm.
A person of intellectual mind and fair judgement will unhesitatingly point out that the history of Naga-Kuki conflict began with the British rule in India. The government of India desperate to suppress the rising tide of Naga nationalism adopted the policy of the British to set the Kuki militants against the Nagas. The vicious circle of killings that followed is something most undesirable. But the Nagas, and particularly the Kukis have learn the hard way who is responsible for the Naga –Kuki ethnic enmity.
Unlike other revolutionary groups of the region NSCN runs a government system of its own and covers the entire Nagalim. To run the Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim(GPRN) taxes are collected from its people and from all commercial transactions and establishments. As falsely propagated by others and zealously picked up by the like of Dr.Khomdon Singh NSCN never sustained its movement by indulging in drug trafficking, extortion, bank robberies and other criminal pursuits. NSCN never criminalized its movement as made to believe by the enemy of the Naga people.
