BEYOND THOSE BLUE MOUNTAINS

Major Iyaria Yulhung, MSM, Naga Army

Beyond those Blue Mountains, where the clouds hang low.

And the jungle winds in silence,

A band of brothers walks unseen.

Through thorns and storms, where have none been.

No roads to guide, no lights to show.

Just rugged trails where shadows grow.

The rain bites hard, the sun burns deep.

Yet, they march on, forsaking sleep.

Their skin bears scars from insect sting.

From rocky paths and uphill battle.

No doctor’s hand, no healing balm.

Just whispered prayers to keep them calm.

Yet they stand, alert and awake.

For every breath, a vow they make.

To fight, to guard, to never fall.

For Nagalim-they give their all.

They claim the hills, the streams, and the stone.

Each step declares, “This land’s our own”.

Not for glory, not for fame,

But for freedom’s fire, they play the game.

And some have fallen-brave and true.

Their blood now part of blue mountain dew.

No trumpet’s call, no nation’s cheer.

Yet comrades wept, and bowed in prayer.

Under the banner, bold and bright.

“Nagalim for Christ”-their guiding light.

No spotlight shines, no medals gleam.

Yet they are the keepers of the dream.

So let the Nagas remember their names.

For beyond those Blue Mountains, they still stand tall-

The unsung heroes who gave their all.
