“When we came out for talks with the Government of India, we knew there would be hindrances for sure. Even then we had to show that there are tolerance and patience. If we don’t prove that, then there is no maturity or seriousness in us. The Government of India has to look into this aspect.” – Th. Muivah

“It is meaningless to talk about solution while keeping the Naga areas divided. Everyone knows it very well that the integration of the Naga areas is a must. It is not at all negotiable. Why? “We have made it absolutely clear to the Indian side that the Nagas will not accept any kind of imposition, we’ll only accept the negotiated settlement basing on the unique history of the Nagas.” –Th. Muivah.

“Since Naga history is unique, solution also must be unique. Therefore, with the recognition of the uniqueness of Naga history, it is imperative that Nagas will have their own national flag and constitution. This sovereign right is their birthright, and they are not given by the Constitution of India.” – Th. Muivah

“As the GoI has recognised the history and sovereign rights of the Nagas, the Nagas are also trying to appreciate the difficulties of India and seek solution on the basis of shared sovereignty. Since the GoI started respecting the Nagas, they also took positive steps to understand and appreciate that.” – Th. Muivah

“Separate Naga National flag and separate Naga constitution will be the basis of shared sovereignty not the constitution of India.” – Th. Muivah
