The National Socialist Council of Nagalim is shell-shocked to learn of the sudden and untimely passing away of Mr. Grinder Muivah. As we go back the lane of our memory, the Government of India proposed in 1996 that Mr. Grinder should be made the common Go-between of the National Socialist Council of Nagalim and the Government of India to take the negotiations to the glorious end. In the interest of our Naga political issue as well as convenience of easy access we mutually agreed to take his service which he had selflessly rendered. Being a man of integrity, God fearing and above all a man who was deeply devoted to the righteous cause of the Naga Nation, he had surpassed our expectations with his whole heartedness to make the Indo-Naga negotiations a grant success. Twenty years long journey of engagement with Government of India had rude ups and downs even threatening the political process but he was a person who dealt with both the National Socialist Council of Nagalim and Government of India with rare calmness and confidence. Prematurely losing him in such crucial juncture where his role is unquestionably vital, the vacuum caused by his absence will be hard to be filled.
The NSCN convey our deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and pray that God may give them the strength and solace to withstand such a colossal loss.
We once again salute Mr. Grinder Muivah and may God grant him eternal rest in peace.
Mr. Qhevihe Chishi Swu
Convenor Steering Committee NSCN.
