NSCN (IM) warns Manipur govt
Dimapur, May 6 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) today issued a stern notice to the state government of Manipur that it will now be held for any consequences that follow now that “history” has been created and “nobody can undo it”.
“History was created yesterday the 5th May, and nobody can undo it,” said the NSCN (IM) in a statement condemning the killing of three persons and injury caused to score other Nagas in Manipur police firing. The group has warned the Manipur state government “that any untoward incident that may follow will be entirely its responsibility.” Manipur government’s action is nothing but “state-sponsored terrorism and unprovoked suppression of democratic protest,” the NSCN (IM) said.
“The way the Manipur government had resisted the entourage of Muivah to his native village Somdal is diabolic, to say the least.”
Three students were shot dead by Manipur police forces at Mao Gate this morning. They are Loshua, a BA.2nd year student of St. Joseph College, Chakho, a BA.2nd Year of St. Joseph Evening College and Lokho, an MA student.
The organization said that the deceased have been declared “national martyrs.” The Joint Council of the NSCN (IM) condemned the barbaric killing and warned Manipur state government “that any untoward incident that may follow will be entirely its responsibility.” “The NSCN/GPRN expresses condolence on the dead of three precious Nagas. May God comfort the bereaved family members at this hour of grief and sorrow,” the organization stated.
The NSCN (IM) also expressed gratitude to the people of Viswema village for the reception given to its general secretary Th. Muivah and to the Naga civil organizations for their support. “Because they have all enthusiastically participated in creating another beautiful chapter in the history of Naga political struggle. It is our hope that they will continue to stand by us till the very end,” the statement added.
