Ukhrul protest high-handedness of SF
Ukhrul, June 2 (NNN): Ukhrul headquarters witnessed public outrage tonight with denizens in the town coming out to protest against the alleged high-handedness of security forces. The 72-hour bandh called by Tangkhul organizations is currently underway. When the volunteers enforcing the bandh were picked up by the IRB personnel present in the town and allegedly started roughing up the youths, the public in no time erupted in anger against the security forces. Clanging of lamp posts and war-cry were witnessed tonight in the town. When the people in large number came out to show their resentments over the alleged high-handedness of the IRB personnel, the latter opened blank fire and resorted to mob-controlling weapons.
