GOVERNMENT OF THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF NAGALIM

Ministry of Information and Publicity

PRESS RELEASE

Dated Oking, 1 Oct 2008

Mr. Thomas response to NSCN/GPRN observation of Agony Day is indeed though provoking. Who is Mr. Thomas in the first place? Mr. Thomas real name is Mr. W. Shapwan from Heime tribe, a Peace camper. Your sitting in the Peace Camp and shouting about ‘Nagaland Yehzabo’, ‘traitors ‘etc. etc. is a blatant hypocrisy. Is your signing of Shillong Accord an act of defending Nagaland Yehzabo? According to you those who oppose the act of capitulation are traitors? Nothing more than this could be expected from a person who had bargained away the rights of his people. The world had changed now and you can not always conceal your past blunders by sitting inside the bush exploiting a particular community.

Political blunders and misadventures in the past resulted in loss of countless lives which continues till today. But to defend the Naga National principles was supreme above all. After the signing of notorious Shillong Accord the fate of Naga political future was hanging by a thread. Waves after waves of mobilized forces armed with misleading propaganda to eliminate those opposed to the Shillong Accord were unprecedented. As a matter of fact the innocent Khianmungan public caught between these two forces.  All parties involved suffered heavy casualties. And the persons like Mr. W. Shapwan are responsible for all those tragic consequences.

The loss of human lives anytime anywhere is always deplorable but any innocent unarmed public caught in the cross-fire is unintentional. We had never and we don’t target innocent public and we will never do that. However, concocted lies heap upon NSCN/GRPN in deliberate attempt to tarnish the image will not be tolerated even now or ever.

Naga people at this juncture, from all walks of life, need rationality to any approach. Those who distort history have no regard for the future though the future is no longer in their hands. And it is evidently clear from a person like Mr. W. Shapwan alias Mr. Thomas, NNC member.

SPEECH OF THE PRESIDENT D. R. NABLA ON THE 22nd ANNIVERSARY OF THE NDFB

October 3, 2008

Dear revolutionary friends and fellow countrymen!  On this 22nd Foundation Anniversary of the NDFB I extend my sincere greetings to all my revolutionary friends and freedom loving fellow countrymen.  Secondly, I pay homage and respect to all those who embraced martyrdoms and those who are still in jail by upholding the ideology and principle of the NDFB. Thirdly, on this very special occasion I would like to extend my sincere greetings to all the independence loving people and revolutionary organizations of the Region.

Today is the Foundation Day of the NDFB. On this day, 22 years ago the NDFB was formed through unremitting efforts by determined and dedicated Boro patriots.  On the brave and bold decision and sacrifices of few revolutionaries, the NDFB was born on this day with an aim to free the Boro people from exploitation, oppression and domination that persisted for centuries.  With the dead of many Boro organizations a new organization was born among the Boro people on this day, the 3rd October, 1986. On this day, out of hopelessness a new ray of hope emerged among the Boro people. The history of the Boro people which was stagnant for centuries is started moving since the formation of the NDFB. So it is a historic day for the Boro people. It is a day for joy and happiness.

Once, the Boro race ruled Sadiya to the east, Tripura and Bay of Bengal to the south, river Kosi to the west and Bhutan and Nepal to the north.  They created their own language, culture and civilization. But today, the lack of nationalism and awareness of the transformation of political world has turned   this great Boro race into a stateless people in devastating condition. Every nook and corner they are now exploited and oppressed and dominated. A race may be great, but without a national organization and its national workers no race can survive and prosper. Therefore, to fill up this want, 22 years back the NDFB was founded on this day with a dream to re-establish our independent identity and independent country. Today we recollect the memorable and important determination and sacrifices and the night of the Foundation Day. Therefore, on this Foundation Day, I appeal all national workers and freedom loving people to reignite afresh with determination and sacrifices of the Foundation Day in the struggle for freedom.

Now there is a fresh movement against the foreigners or alien people in Boroland or Assam. Some say that there are no alien people in Boroland or Assam.  Some other says that there are as many as 5 million foreigners. Some advocate that unless some preventing measures are taken immediately, the foreigners will be kingmakers. Recently Justice B. K. Sarma of Guahati High Court observed that the foreigners have become kingmakers.  In reply to the observation of the Court, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said that he will not allow the foreigners to become kingmakers in Boroland or Assam. But fact is that the alien people who intruded from the Indian subcontinent to our land have already become kings and queens. Even the Ahom, who ruled some parts of Assam for 600 hundred years are so much influenced by the language, culture and religion of the alien people that they have lost their independent identity. The alien people who intruded to our land nook and corner have not only become kingmakers but they have already become kings and queens in our land. They have already established their alien language, culture and religion in our land. Now the trend of intrusion is changing faster. These unwanted alien people are intruding more and more as major cities of India are attacked by bombs.  Now even the great Marathi people have to fight against these unwanted Indian people in Mumbai. Therefore it is time that all the indigenous people fight against those aliens or extinct like giant dinosaurs.  Law is for the people of the land. We must take the law in our own hands and fight for survival.

Revolutionary friends and fellow countrymen! On this day, four years back the NDFB declared ceasefire to resolve the political problems of the Boro people peacefully and democratically. But no political talk is initiated by India. Rather India is trying to dictates its own terms. We are in favor of peace and negotiated settlement of the conflict. But there must be basis of peace and negotiation. To resolve the Indo-Boroland conflict we have clearly mentioned the basis of peace and negotiation in our Proposed Agenda. But instead of talking, India is trying to dictate its own terms on NDFB. Not dictation but only mutual understanding and respect can boost the talks and resolve the conflict peacefully and democratically. When the peaceful and democratic means ends, the fighting will resume itself. 22 years back we were stronger when we were only 30.  Now 2000 cadres and members in the designated camps have weakened us. So it is good that we start our fight afresh with 30. Till we achieve we have to fight for our cherished goal – freedom. So, on this auspicious occasion I would like to request all my revolutionary friends and fellow countrymen to prepare for the fight mentally and spiritually.

Ever since Plato advocated the state, the number of state is growing in this world. Even in this new millennium, East Timor, Kosovo, South Ossetia and Abkhazia emerged as newly independent states and have been recognized by international community. So I would like to appeal the international community, particularly the Britain, the former colonial ruler that is responsible for our present forced status to recognize the freedom struggle of the Boro people and entire Region. And also I would like to appeal China, which is our giant neighbor to recognize the separate status of the whole Western South East Asia or the so called North East India immediately against oppression and illegal occupation of India. No women in the world, but the Meitei women of the Region had stripped themselves naked and protested against atrocities and illegal occupation of Indian Army.  So how long the international community will remain silence against such atrocities and illegal occupation of Indian Army?

The plain tribal people, “is being gradually assimilated to the population of the plains and should all practical purposes be treated as minority.” This was stated by Gopinath Bordoloi, the leader of the Assam Congress Party and Member of the Constituent Assembly, during the debates on the subject of safeguards to tribal in Assam. When all the indigenous peoples in the north east India were safeguarded under the Sixth Scheduled of the constitution of India, Gopinath Bordoloi planned to annihilate the Boro people through assimilation. Through his statement he dug graveyard for the entire Boro people. He turned the land of the Boro people into their own graveyard. But despite his conspiracy of annihilation and all odds, the Boro Mongoloid, proves beyond doubt the extra ordinary vitality and survival capability of their race.  But the diabolical design and conspiracy to annihilate the Boro people are persisted. We must be aware of such diabolical design and conspiracy to annihilate the Boro people. To save ourselves from such evil design and conspiracy we will have no other option but only an independent state of our own.

We have been in ceasefire for long but before it is too late it is necessary that we change our direction. Therefore, I would like to appeal all my comrades and freedom loving people to prepare for the change of direction.

Nations and countries are created by the patriots, national workers and the revolutionaries. So the new independent Boro nation and Boroland must be created by the patriots and revolutionaries of the NDFB.

Unity, independent and sovereignty will not come by compiling a new history. Unity, independent and sovereignty will not come through books and sweet words. Unity, independent and sovereignty will come only through our struggle and sacrifices. Therefore on this special occasion, I would like to appeal the Koch-Rajbangshi, Garo, Rabha, Lalung, Hajong, Borok, Dimasa, Sonowal, Moran, Muttok, Chutiya, Dewri, Karbi, Mishing, Ahom and Boro to fight united and regain their independent and sovereignty.

Revolutionary friends and fellow countrymen! With your love, help and support and by the blessings of God, the NDFB has been standing on its principle and ideology. And sincerely hope through your love, help and support and by the blessings of God the NDFB can continue to fight till the Boro nation is independent. Thank you.

Victory to the Boro people

Victory to the Revolution

Long live NDFB

GOVERNMENT OF THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF NAGALIM

Ministry of Information and Publicity

Press Release

4th Oct,08

NSCN functioning system is based on the democratic principle, and this has been the governing guidelines in the framing of any policy matter. No personal whim is given the scope to overrule the decision of the house. This is the reason why we adopted the Collective Leadership in all decision making process.  The same has been borrowed by the K-group. Citing the case of Communism in Russia, China or Cuba is out of the context, and therefore, misleading. NSCN, for all practical purpose ignited the spirit of reconciliation with all sincerity and commitment in January 13, 2007. But evil thoughts enters into the mind of some leaders and pseudo- national workers to exploit the euphoria over “Reconciliation and Unity” to serve their own interests. The unfolding events that are marked by abduction, looting, burning of civilian houses, killing of innocent civilians and national workers all goes to nullify the highly glorified unification slogan. Everything vanished in thin air and thus the deception of highest degree was exposed before the Nagas. Everything was laid bare before the people to question the integrity of the people who invented the deceptive but obsessive slogan of Naga reconciliation and unity. For any problems there is a solution but without considering into facts the genesis of the problem any approach for solution shall be but superficial.

Nevertheless, NSCN continues with its time-tested commitment to honour and respect the sentiment of the Naga public, but under heavy pressure of provocation and test of nerve. Though, the majority of the people remained passive to the ugly situation unfolded in front of them. This is the very sad of affairs and it never goes down well in building the structure of unity. One should have the courage and moral force to point out the culprits behind the entire socio-political nuisance, and that is the correct way to win the faith and confidence of the people in leading the movement for unity.

God’s will is always to be of something good for the Nagas, and Nagas coming together can never be against God’s will. But God of Nagas and God of the creator of the world never accept deceitfulness in the scheme of unity for the Nagas. For God read the heart and thinking of every person who matters in the Naga issue. To achieve anything big there is a price to be paid, but if there is no honesty the price will come in the form of damnation and nothing else.

On 25 September the civil societies from every nook and cranny of Nagalim converged in Sumi Baptist Church, Dimapur under the aegis of Forum for Naga Reconciliation. The very next day K-boys gunned down Lieut. Sterling near Popular Bakery, Dimapur. Naga army personnel are no less human than K-boys. What happened on the night of 2nd Oct. 2008 at Ghorapatti area? This K-group who practices the stereo-typical image of true aspirants for Naga reconciliation came looking for NSCN boys. They pulled out the wife of one school principal Joyson Shimray to identify the house of Aso Raleng a retired Inspector of Taxes. They went away not finding anyone of their targets but not before spraying the two houses with AKs and injuring the finger of Aso Raleng. Are their actions in the true spirit of reconciliation? We are sometimes skeptical but in spite of all these provocations we are all out for reconciliation.  But their actions are in total contrast to the high sounding socio-political and religious doctrines preached by new masters through their so-called Publicity Cell.

The good name of Mahatma Gandhi, Mao Tse Tung , Ernesto Che Guevara, Fidel Castro and Nelson Mandela who are distinguished political personalities are given political glorification by virtue of their own political wisdom, for they changed the destiny of their people. These leaders neither allowed themselves to be influenced by vested interests nor became the tools of the adversaries. And they achieved their political aspirations by steadfastly hold on to their conviction. In the Naga context, the Collective Leadership of Mr. Isak Chishi Swu, Khodao Yanthan and Th. Muivah are tirelessly marching forward and thanks for the revolutionary inspiration generated by these great world revolutionary leaders. The dog barks but the caravan marches on.

Press Release

6th  Oct,08

For the second time the K-group attacked the Wungram Colony at Purana Bazaar after its security has been taken over by the IRB. Yesterday at around 6pm the members of this group sneaked into the Colony and indulged in blank firing. And for the second time the IRB personnel were caught napping. On 2nd Oct. the houses of two Tangkhul families at Ghorappati in Nagaland Gate were sprayed with AKs, and injuring the owner of one of the houses Aso Raleng in the finger. In these two incidents the same pattern was followed. The eye witness however identifies who the miscreants are, and there is no use trying to go for the blame game. But what message are they trying to convey through their bullets? Is this the way they want to talk their way to reconciliation and unity?

Just an eye wash response on reconciliation initiative is not going to deliver the message as desired by the Naga people. Every single step and bullet will be counted at this particular juncture, the moment of truth and deceit.

Tangkhul frontals flay attack on civilians

Dimapur, October 7 (MExN):

Frontal Tangkhul organizations today expressed strong condemnation for the Dimapur October 2 attack by gunmen on the residences belonging to two of the community’s members.  Separate notes of condemnation were received here from the Tangkhul Hoho of Nagaland and the Tangkhul Students’ Union of Dimapur.

The residences of a school principal Joyson Shimray and Yangmaso Raleng, a retired government officer were fired upon by ‘armed cadres’ numbering about 10, said the hoho in its note. Narrating the events the hoho said about 10 gunmen first intruded into the house of Shimray, who was not at home during the time of the incident. The gunmen then forced the wife to lead them to another house, of Raleng, and enquired about presence of NSCN (IM) cadres. When the victims expressed their ignorance, the gunmen opened indiscriminate firing into the building, the hoho said. One of the gunmen, armed with a pistol fired several rounds injuring one of Raleng’s fingers, the hoho said.

“The armed cadres did not have the slightest regard even to the womenfolk who (were) fired upon, several rounds from Ak-47 between her legs” the hoho lamented. The hoho reminded that this act of targeting civilians has created fear-psychosis among the community’s people. The hoho termed the incident to be contemptuous, for the fact that the Naga society is actively engaged in peace initiatives and reconciliation for the warring Naga underground factions.

The hoho has strongly condemned the intimidation and threat made to the peace-loving citizens of the community. It has urged all Naga frontals, the church and the citizens to stand strongly against all forms of violence so that recurrences of such activities are deterred to usher in peaceful coexistence.

In a similar note of anguish, the Tangkhul Students’ Union of Dimapur expressed deep pain and hurt at the wanton incident. Also narrating the course of the unfortunate event, the union said it cost one of the house owners his finger as well as the wife of Joyson sustaining injuries all over her thighs.

“Such heinous act committed upon the elderly people and a lady wife by these miscreants or the cadres in case they happen to be the so-called national workers whatsoever faction they belong to, is a shameful act and deserves strongest condemnation by all right-thinking human beings” the students said. The union said that “in short” the gunmen are unfit to be called “national workers”, if at all they happen to be one, because of their despicable act. They have tarnished the credibility of their organization, the students lamented.

“We humbly appeal to the authority concern to take a strong action against the delinquent cadres and ensure that such most unbecoming act does not occur in future” the union appealed.

Press Release

11th October 2008.

It is a perspective revelation and not going ballistic and antagonistic. And what is seen in the press and practiced by the press is all about ‘misnomer’ ‘misleading’ and ‘misrepresentation’ of the actuality. It is about the genesis of NSCN when it come into being on 31st January 1980, the break up in 1988 and the unceremonious expulsion of Khaplang from NSCN. It was the collective political wisdom of Isak Chishi Swu and Th. Muivah that gave birth to NSCN. None of the senior members in the K-group like Kitovi, Mulatonu, Azheto Chophy were in the picture during this critical period of NSCN history.

NSCN was formed to save the national exigencies following the ‘sell out’ of the Naga national issue by the NNC and FGN by signing the Shillong Accord in 1975. With RAW (Research and Analysis Wing) playing an active role behind Khaplang made an abortive attempt to kill the Naga issue in 1988. It was however, a turning point for NSCN as it was strategically blessed to make an impact in its diplomatic campaign after shifting its operational Headquarters from eastern Nagalim.

Growing in force and legitimacy as the people’s mandate organization the GOI was politically compelled to come closer to NSCN and ultimately signed the Cease-fire in 1997 to start the Indo-Naga political talks.

This is the story of NSCN. But the mass media introduced the party nomenclature as NSCN (IM) and NSCN (K). This is a distortion, though done in an inadvertent manner to serve its own convenience.

Nowhere in our official documents and diplomatic relations across the world did we use NSCN (IM). India and the UN bodies, besides, other international organizations recognized the Indo-Naga issue as represented by NSCN.

Under the given situation where NSCN is led by the Collective Leadership of Isak Chishi Swu, Khodao Yanthan and Th. Muivah, the use of NSCN (IM) to mean NSCN comes as an affront.

PRESS RELEASE

13th Oct. 2008.

MIP/GPRN:Telling false stories over the dead body of late Hekavi Chishi by manipulating  his bonafide identity as a member of Khaplang group to a mere civilian is another disgraceful game of deceit as often indulged by the group, in order to draw people’s attention to its favor. But such manner of playing with the identity of its own member is as good as disowning him to serve its purpose of misleading propaganda. What a turn of fate for Hekavi Chishi to be dishonored by his group!

What really dogged the K-group is the disease-like parochialism as reflected in every piece of its so-called Publicity Cell’s Press Statement. But they have the pretentious dignity to go on harping on the issue of reconciliation and unity. Unfortunate of everything but the fang of divisive language nullifies everything of their much hyped reconciliation agenda. Who fools the Naga people and who leads the Naga people? The Naga people and the public are not that naïve.

GOVERNMENT OF THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF NAGALIM

Ministry of Information and Publicity

PRESS RELEASE

14th Oct. 2008.

The sheer weight of K’s defection to the mainstream and the rumbling in the group over the confusing leadership’s role and with the increasing number of members questioning the legitimacy of the group vis-à-vis the Naga national struggle, is generating a new conspiracy but coming in the garb of defection. This has come to surface in the new twist of things as witnessed today.

The killing of NSCN’s Captain Chinaochung and Sgt.Maj. Ngachanthingreipam by their comrades in North Cachar Hills on 11 Oct. 2008 is a part of the conspiracy that is being enforced to wreck the NSCN. The comrades who defected from K-group just a month back and who were accepted to the NSCN after being made to go through public scrutiny to grant them the status of ‘genuine home comers’ later turned themselves as wolves in sheep’s clothing. And they killed their senior comrades in arms in cold blooded manner. With zero-level political education on Naga political struggle other than teaching with the sting of communalism and parochialism these members have no compunction to go for such action. But such deep-rooted conspiracy is not a new incident. Earlier on 4th May 2008, a conspiracy was hatched by the then Azheto’s Unification group when they invited late Lt. Pouken to come to a particular spot in Burma camp area in order to facilitate defection with arms. But on reaching the spot he was inhumanly tortured and hacked to death. Pouken’s friend Lt. Solomon was lucky to escape with injuries.

With such conspiracy in their pockets these K-group says ‘it has the courage to listen to the voice of the Naga people’. The devilish conspiracy never represents the voice of the Naga people, and the voice of the Naga people never spit the venom of parochialism and communalism in the name of Naga political issue. These are the roadblocks to reconciliation and unity. But the K-group is desperate to exploit the sentiments of the Naga people on the issue of reconciliation, not knowing that the Naga people have learnt the hard way not to rate themselves naïve any longer. Who guides the Naga people and who misguides the Naga people? But the Naga people are getting wiser.

Kohima, October 14:

Crucial Indo-Naga meet at Hague to break deadlock in peace talks

With the deadlock in the current Naga political talks between the Center and the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN), the representatives of Government of India and the collective leadership of NSCN will meet at The Hague in the last week of this month.

The meeting has been called against the backdrop of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s statement that Naga peace process has not progressed.

Samson Jojo, Chief Principal Secretary of the Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim (GPRN) said the crucial Naga talks would be held in the last week of this month to discuss all contentious issues and exigencies of the “Naga people” which has been placed before the center.

“This time the talk would be very crucial,” Jojo said adding that the ball is in the court of Government of India and it is they who should decide now. He said ten years of truce vis-à-vis talks was too long for the Naga people and that fall out of the talks would be solely responsible for New Delhi and not the Naga people.

Swu and Muivah, assisted by emissary to the collective leadership of NSCN, V S Atem and several top NSCN functionaries, would participate in the talks, which would be held at The Hague, Switzerland.

Union Minister of State, Oscar Fernandes and another Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, Pritivraj Chauhan, would led the Indian team which would include top officials from intelligence agencies, security forces and ministry of Home Affairs. Prime Minister’s interlocutor K. Padmanabhaiah, former union home secretary would also assist them in the Naga talks.

The Chief Principal Secretary of the outfit said since this time talks would be “very crucial” the Indian side would be represented by several top officials apart from Fernandes.

Both Swu and Muivah have already left India after they observed that talks were not progressing according to their expectations.

Muivah has already reached Amsterdam, Netherlands, last month, while Swu is living in Bangkok, Thailand, since last year.

The two Naga rebel leaders had come to India to sit across the table with cross sections of India lawmakers and politicians after strong assurance from the Center to take forward Naga peace process. But this has not worked out according to their expectations and finally they had decided to leave the country.

During their stay in the country the two Naga leaders had met several top Indian politicians from different parties, apart from meeting the Prime Minister and other union ministers. Their meetings could not reach a consensus to hammer out a solution to the vexed Indo-Naga political problem.

Nearly 60 round of talks have been held so far between the Center and the NSCN both outside and within the country. Successive Indian Prime Ministers have also sat face to face with the Naga leaders, but they had so far failed to convince the Naga rebel leaders.

The NSCN has already submitted 31-point charter of demand for resolving Naga issue asking the Center that federal relationship between Nagalim (Nagaland) and the Center would resolve the problem.

But before any final solution the NSCN wanted the Center to integrate all Naga contiguous areas under one administrative unit – a demand which neighbouring states have being opposing, especially Manipur state, where large chunk of Naga people live.

The NSCN led by S S Khaplang is all out against ongoing talks between the Center and the rival faction, alleging them of selling out Nagas’ rights.

After the stalemate in Naga peace process NSCN had decided to extend the ceasefire indefinitely subject to progress in the talks since July 31, 2007, the idea that was opposed by the Center.

The NSCN and Government of India first declared truce on July 31, 1997 for three months. The conditions for the talks were at the Prime Minister level, without any condition and in a third country. But according to the NSCN these conditions were later violated by the Center. (Page News Service)

Press Release

21st Oct. 2008

It was an uneasy existence and a source of discomfort for the NSCN and particularly for the Chakesang’s standing image and their commitment towards the national cause. Because the rumbling within the Chakesang national workers of NSCN gave enough signals about ill-motivated members creating unnecessary nuisance to eventually make an exit from NSCN at any opportune occasion. So when Alezo Venuh, Vedeta Neinu, Chewelo, Vechizo, Chenibo and Vevolhu left NSCN to be on the side of Azheto Chophy it does not come as something surprising. It was on the expected line as they proved their true colour. It was a big relief to see depart as NSCN’s Chakesang Region has cleansed of the members with doubtful credentials that does not fit into the morality that keep built NSCN.

There are over 30 Chakesang national workers in the Civil Set-up of  GPRN and equal member in the Naga Army who represents Chakesang in the national service shouldered by NSCN. It is their commitment that matters, and their political conviction that strengthen the NSCN as a mighty force.

Persons with mercenary mindset and to commercialized and criminalized themselves taking the good name of NSCN have no place in the service of the nation. They should go to where they belong. Today, the whole Nagas are a living witness as they went to the side of the people who share common interest sans Naga political vision.

Naga groups urged to demonstrate resolve

Dimapur, October 21 (MExN):

Notwithstanding the hiccups that followed the reconciliation soccer match, the Forum for Naga Reconciliation persists. The “Naga political groups” (factions) and the Forum for Naga Reconciliation met in Dimapur on October 21. This is the fourth meeting since the “A Covenant of Common Hope” was adopted by the Naga Peace Summit III at Chiang Mai, Thailand in August.

The representatives from the Naga groups expressed urgency for reconciliation, said the forum today, in a statement. They affirmed sincere commitment in contributing towards the realization of reconciliation.

“While recognizing that significant progress is being made at every level of the process, the Naga political groups acknowledged the presence of ground difficulties in realizing reconciliation. After honest deliberation, the representatives expressed optimism that the ground difficulties – how difficult they may be – can be overcome if they are addressed together in the spirit of self-examination, forgiveness and mutual acceptance” the forum said.

The forum said the groups acknowledged that there have been continuing “stray incidents of violence”, and expressed “deep anguish and pain” at the loss of human life. “They however affirmed and clarified that such incidents should not be seen as a sign that they are not for Naga reconciliation” the forum said.

The forum expressed deep concern over the continuation of violent incidents and use of provocative statements through the Media by the groups in concern. The reconciliation forum has pointed out that such actions and activities will only undermine the commitment and sincerity which was mutually expressed and agreed upon by the Naga political groups for reconciliation.

“To strengthen the Naga reconciliation process and to publicly demonstrate their sincerity and resolve to build a common understanding among Nagas, the FNR urged the Naga groups to take practical step-by-step measures in ensuring that no act of violence or provocation is committed till the next Naga Reconciliation meeting” the Forum for Naga Reconciliation said.
