GOVERNMENT OF THE PEOPPLE’S REPUBLIC OF NAGALIM

CONDOLENCE MESSAGE

   Oking, the 31st July, 2026

It is with deep regret and sorrow that I express my condolences on the untimely demise of Ms. Vilanuo Angela Yhome, President, Naga Mothers’ Association (NMA), who passed away this morning at Kohima.

She was truly an iconic woman with a very amenable demeanor. Her soft-spoken countenance won many hearts.  She was a strong-willed woman who had worked in the civil society organizations (CSOs) in various capacities for the upliftment of women in particular and the Naga public in general.

She truly led and lived an exemplary life by sacrificing her all for the Naga society. She not only believed in the rights of the Nagas, but gave her heart and soul to work for the just cause of the Nagas.

In her passing, not only her family but the Naga community has lost a great soul. The void she has left behind will be irreplaceable. She has truthfully lived a remarkable life, which others must strive to carry forward the legacy left behind.

She will always be fondly remembered for all the sacrifices she has made and her life testimony will remain etched in the history of the Nagas.

I extend my deepest condolences to the bereaved family at this hour and pray that the Almighty God provides solace and gives them the strength to overcome this tragedy.

May the soul of Ms. Vilanuo Angela Yhome find eternal peace and rest in the Lord Almighty!

                                                            Th. Muivah
