NSCN APPRECIATES THE POSITIVE GESTURE OF GoI

5th  August, 2016

The NSCN profoundly appreciates the positive gesture of GoI in ensuring the release of  Maj. Gen.Ningkhan Shimray alias Anthony Shimray  by a NIA special court on Tuesday the 2nd  August 2016 at Delhi. It may be recalled that Anthony Shimray was assigned on diplomatic missions abroad and while on his way to New Delhi to attend Indo- Naga peace talks, he was abducted by Indian Agency at Kathmandu Airport on October 2010.

However, the maturity and sincerity displayed by GoI  at this crucial stage of talk with this change of attitude will definitely go a long way in forging better relationship and mutual trust between the two entities and therefore the NSCN strongly urge the GoI to drop all charges against him and release him unconditionally so that legal entanglements does not come in the way to political solution .

The NSCN also express its gratefulness to Naga People for raising their voices at various levels and platforms for early release of Anthony Shimray.
