Press Release
6th May,2010
History was created yesterday the 5th May, and nobody can undo it. No matter what obstructionist forces are doing to put a block on the road to peaceful settlement of Indo-Naga political tissue a historic step has been taken and there is no retreat, no force on earth can stop the storming tide of Naga nationalism.
In the first place our immense thanks goes to the people of Viswema village led by Viswema Village Council for the kind of reception given to honorable Ato Kilonser Th. Muivah at Viswema . The warm welcome was unexpected but it was something nostalgic for Mr.Muivah. He was extremely happy to meet those elderly members of the village. But the fact that the Viswema village has such strong emotional attachment with the national workers who are in the forefront of Naga national struggle makes Muivah all the more happy.
The support given by our Naga civil societies like Naga Hoho, NSF, NPMHR, NMA, Naga Council, APO, SAPO, AYO and others is highly appreciated and shall be valued for all time to come. Because they have all enthusiastically participated in creating another beautiful chapter in the history of Naga Political struggle. It is our hope that they will continue to stand by us till the very end.
The way the Manipur government had resisted the entourage of Muivah to his native village Somdal is diabolic, to say the least. Three students were shot dead in cold blood at Mao Gate. They are mere students, studying in college. They are Loshua S/o Daikho,BA.2nd year St.Joseph College, Jakhama, Kalinama village, Chakho s/o Nelli,BA.2nd Year St.Joseph evening, College, Kalinama village, Lokho, M.A student s/o Nishini, of Songsong village. In the emergency Joint Council meeting held at Council Headquarters, Hebron, they were declared National Martyrs and their names would be recorded in the Naga political history. The Joint Council also condemns the barbaric killing in the strongest term. It further warned the Manipur state government that any untoward incident that may follow will be entirely its responsibility. This is nothing but state sponsored terrorism and unprovoked suppression of democratic protest.
The NSCN/GPRN expresses condolence on the dead of three precious Nagas. May God comfort the bereaved family members at this hour of grief and sorrow?
