75th NAGA PLEBISCITE DAY: THE ‘NAKED TRUTH’ OF INDO-NAGA HISTORY
**“Indo-Naga history has taught us bitter lessons as Indian mindset of hegemony and suppression never shy away from betraying the Nagas time and again. As testified by history running over 75 years of Naga political movement, the Government of India desperately tried to force us into submission to toe their line of political ideology and accept the Indian Constitution. However, Nagas have stood the ground not to accept what is not right, culturally and politically and historically. This forced the Government of India (GoI) to betray the Nagas by presenting made to look-like political agreements with no intention to fulfil. Naturally, ‘trust’ became the victim as India stood up in defiance of truth. This is the damning relation between the Nagas and India”. – Chairman Q. Tuccu, delivered on the Naga Plebiscite Day commemoration, CHq, Hebron
** “Even after 75 years of plebiscite, the Government of India has been shamelessly trying to bury it off which was signed on May 16, 1951. In January, 1950, the Constituent Assembly sub-committee was sent to Kohima and called upon the NNC (Naga National Council) leaders to reconsider their decision to join the Indian Union but Nagas had already taken the decision in 1929, and stood firm on their fathers’ decision and rejected outright”- Lieutenant General Vs. Atem VC, AEM (Retd.), Deputy Ato Kilonser, on the occasion of the Naga Plebiscite Day Commemoration at CHq, Hebron
** “The historic Plebiscite conducted on May 16, 1951, was a political step to be recognized by the aggressor-state for legitimacy. Now the Framework Agreement of the 3rd August, 2015, has made it a recognized political entity. The Naga national identity was forcibly colonized by India. The Framework Agreement has made it a recognized entity. It also recognized the land of the Nagas stating that the Nagas are the owner of their land-anything on the surface and beneath of it belongs to the Nagas”- Mr. Rh. Raising, Member, Collective Leadership, Special Emissary of the Collective Leadership, NSCN, on the occasion of the Naga Plebiscite Day Commemoration, organized by ANSAM (All Naga Students Association Manipur) and hosted by TKS (Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong) at Ukhrul

Atem, Deputy Ato Kilonser, conveyed to the Government of India telling them in no certain terms that ‘we have found that the GoI is not serious, you are buying time, playing down against the Nagas. Since 2020, our talks have not gone forward. Therefore, Nagas have understood the position of India how you have been playing with the Nagas and this we have to convey to the Naga people. We are not coming back to Delhi if at all Government of India is not serious enough. The GoI may come to Dimapur, Kohima or Hebron if at all serious with the Naga political issue.

We have our history which the GoI has recognized as unique history. Now, take this message to the GoI’. ‘Be it today or tomorrow whether it is in heaven or earth what is right of the Nagas, what belongs to the Nagas shall be always for the Nagas’- Ino Kraibo Chawang, Member, Collective Leadership, NSCN
INSPIRATIONAL “S
**My dear Naga people, God’s sovereignty overrules all human thinking, plans and history. And I know that in the end we shall overcome within God’s perfect will and purpose. We hope in faith that His will shall be done for Nagalim. And it is for us to believe in the sovereign purpose and promise of God for Nagalim and for the Naga people. The scripture also assures us that: “For the vision is yet to for the appointment time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie; though it may tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry”. Habakkuk 2:3. – Mr. Th. Muivah, Chief Political Negotiator, General Secretary/Ato Kilonser, NSCN/GPRN, on the occasion of the Reaffirmation and Declaration of the NSCN/GPRN Collective Leadership Chairman, Vice-Chairman and General Secretary, the 20th March, 2025
**Today, we gather at a moment that will define our survival as a people. We are standing at the crossroads of history, and the choice before us is stark – either rise in resolute defiance to reclaim our dignity, or we are swallowed whole by the deceitful machinations of a foreign state that has long sought to erase our identity, to break our spirit, and to keep us enslaved within the iron grip of occupation”. – Prof. Dr. Rosemary Dzuvichu, Co-convenor, Global Naga Forum (GNF) at Mass Rally, held at Ukhrul Headquarters, 2nd April, 2025
