PRESS STATEMENT, the 23rd May, 2024: On NIA, KNA (B) & PDF collusion to attack the NSCN

GOVERNMENT OF THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF NAGALIM

Ministry of Information and Publicity

PRESS STATEMENT

Oking, the 23rd May, 2024

Where is the Government of India (GoI) heading for by resorting to setting the Indian security forces to go for proxy war against the Naga Army of NSCN (National Socialist Council of Nagalim) using the KNA (B)/Kuki National Army (Burma), one of the Myanmar based militant groups along with the People’s Defence Force (PDF). Manipur had witnessed a great deal of sabre-rattling between the Meiteis and the Kuki-Zo interspersed with bloody killings with both the communities having suffered heavy casualties. NSCN has kept its hands clean to stay away from such conflagration that will not serve any political purpose when the going between the Government of India and NSCN is all about political talks for political settlement through the negotiating table. However, the vicious NIA (National Investigation Agency) is spitting venom with bewildering allegations against NSCN for fuelling the Meitei-Kuki-Zo ethnic conflict by way of helping the Meitei revolutionary groups against the Kuki militants.

It is a matter of regret that the AR (Assam Rifles) and para-regiment are openly standing out to collude with the Kuki militant groups against NSCN creating a war-like scenario in the border areas of India and Myanmar. No such war mongering situation was ever witness in recent history despite the area prone to infiltration by different militant groups. As usual, the KNA/KNA (B) is in denial mode trying to show different picture far from having any link with the ubiquitous AR and Paratroopers. The ground reality however speaks louder than anything else. Needless to say, KNA (B) is given unrestrained access to border crossing point to Myanmar and allowed them to come out anytime. Others are strictly forbidden. Such is the deceitful role of the Indian security forces magnifying the problem instead of finding the route to solution. Certainly, the FMR (Free Movement regime) is scrapped by the MHA (Ministry of Home Affairs) to control the undesirable elements crossing the border. It is ironic that the Kuki militants are found as favourable elements to wreck the presence of the Naga Army in Myanmar.

What the ground realities are as witnessed in the Indo-Myanmar border? The Home Minister of India Mr. Amit Shah was bold enough to say that the illegal immigrants from Myanmar created the Manipur situation that continues to burn. To stop this, he initiated the unthinkable to scrap the FMR and fence the border. However, in contrary to the government decision, the NIA along with the AR and Para regiment are working hand in glove with the Kuki militant groups. These AR, Territorial Army and Para Regiment facilitated the Kuki militants with free entry and exit. The villagers have seen truckloads of Kuki militants being dropped at the border by the AR. There is a strong nexus between the Indian security forces, KNA (B) and PDF with all the scheming materials provided by the Indian security forces.

They supplied combat materials to KNA (B) and Chin PDF. Not only that, they supplied GI pipe for their bomb making factory at Phaiyang village. These Indian security forces gave training to KNA (B) how to make bombs and how to operate them through drones. The bomb making factory of KNA (B) at Phaiyang is guarded by the India security forces round the clock. Ironically, their behaviour is highly despicable and offensive. (Photo of KNA (B) bomb making factory available for public scrutiny, indefensible proof).

No doubt, the sincerity of the GoI is not only highly questionable but wicked and loathsome. It is an irony that the main target of the Indian security forces is the Naga Army. To put the matter straight, the Naga Army had never disturbed the Indian security forces while having their goodwill missions inside Myanmar.

There are more than 5000 (five thousand) Kuki refugees from Myanmar sheltered in Naga villages under Kasom and Kamjong blocks like Wanglee, Namlee, KAKA, Zingshophai Choro, Skip, Pilong, Sangalok and Phaikoh in Kamjong district. These refugee camps have gained notoriety for indulging in criminal activities polluting the socio-security environment. The borderline activities of these refugees were made easy as they colluded with the AR to walk in and out of Myanmar with nefarious purpose. They are the people in the intelligence agency with criminal network that operate clandestinely. While we understand that these refugees are all about fleeing for survival, their very presence has become a huge economic burden for the locals affecting their livelihood as these refugees have rummaged the greenery (wild plants) for food, giving tough competition to the locals and going the way above the “tolerance limit”. The villagers along the borderline are feeling unsecured going for hunting or fishing in the jungles because of the presence of anti-social elements that have penetrated from the other side of the border in the name of refugees.

To put on record, the combined forces of KNA (B) and PDF with Indian security forces managing the logistics have taken inimical stance against NSCN, deliberately targeting the Naga Army camps located in the Naga areas in Myanmar. It is unfortunate that the KNA (B)/PDF waylaid 2nd Lieut. Hante Ao of the Naga Army on the 11th May, 2024 and was killed after on the 13th May, 2024 after a massive torture. Another Naga Army officer Lieut. Col. Yaoreichan posted at Choro village, Kamjong district, was also captured by the KNA (B) and killed. These incidents are disgusting. The KNA (B) is warned not to take sadistic pleasure in killing Naga Army.

The NIA with its sinister-motive has only exacerbated the volatile situation by blaming the NSCN for the unrest in Manipur. They are simply adding fuel to the burning issue, determined to make the best use of the Kuki militants to settle score with NSCN. Nevertheless, NSCN finds no reason why the NIA has to get so miserable and belligerent, ready to set the Indo-Myanmar border on fire against the Naga Army. For the record, the Indian security forces are raining bombs using drones against the Naga Army camps in Myanmar. This has been going on for more than three weeks.

The NSCN understand that what the Indian security forces are doing against the Naga Army is pure military brinkmanship. It looks all the more bizarre as we find the aggression of the Indian security forces very hideous as drones attacks is nothing less than international aggression as the geographical location of the Naga Army is beyond the jurisdiction of India. The GoI shall be held responsible when the NSCN is compelled to find an answer to the Indian aggression in the manner that dim fit. When the Indo-Naga political talks remain inconclusive it does not give the right to India to resort to bombings using drones across international border. It is militarily and politically unnecessary, inherently immoral, a war crime and no less a form of state terrorism.
