PRESS RELEASE
CHq Hebron, the 8th June, 2022
19 years ago Operation Salvage was started by NSCN (National Socialist Council of Nagalim) at Heningkunglwa in Peren district, Nagaland, in 2003, as a part of the project which focus on humanity and contributing its role in making the world free from the bondage of drugs & alcohol. On the 7th June, 2022, Operation Salvage celebrated the 19th Foundation Day to send the message across that it is still going strong to save the life of many who are lost in the wretched world of drugs & alcohol.
The occasion was celebrated with the presence of representatives from the NMA (Naga Mothers’ Association), NSF (Naga Students’ Federation), ZBCC (Zeme Baptist Churches Council), WSBAK (Western Sumi Baptist Akukuhou Kughakulu) and NSCN dignitaries led by Rev. Puni, member, Collective Leadership, NSCN who took over as the Chief Guest due to indisposition of Yaruiwo Q. Tuccu. Meaningful testimonies were shared by the former inmates that have recovered from the rehabilitation centre to join the society leaving the past behind. Words of support and encouragement were shared by the NMA, NSF, ZBCC and WSBAK.
Rev. Puni, Member, Collective Leadership, NSCN, made an interesting quote, “Life without testimony has no meaning.” He elaborated using his own testimony and NSCN how they converted the Nagas in Eastern Nagaland into Christianity and established as many as 200 churches.
At present Operation Salvage is taking care of around 70 inmates. David Perie, the Administrator, while narrating the past and present account of Operation Salvage said “We need to work in close relationship with God to face the life’s challenges”.
