PRESS STATEMENT, the 16th June, 2022 (on PAN Naga Hoho)

PRESS STATEMENT

Council Headquarters (CHq) Hebron, the 16th June, 2022

Of late, media is floated with cross section of people and groups fussing about the power of the Chairman of Pan Naga Hoho (PNH). The irony is that the Pan Naga Hoho is a topic that does not warrant wild speculation because it is still in incubation stage and one need not go for panic reaction.

Such a subject of critical importance that concerns the Nagas is something that would not be processed in a damning hurry. When the Pan Naga Hoho, as conceived by the Government of India (GoI) and mutually discussed and accepted by the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN) taking into consideration the necessity to have such an umbrella set up for the larger unity and welfare of the Nagas living in different regions passed through the critical stage of political scrutiny it would naturally come out in the open.

However, PNH does not undermine any democratic political institution as perceived by others. Such a widely diffused view is unfounded. The irony of the situation is apparent to everyone. Things are moving too slow. However, the Pan Naga Hoho when concretized will take into account the social, cultural, literature, identity and interests of the Nagas. Till then the less fuss made about it the better.
